1. When gravure printing is used for plastic packaging printing, what are the disadvantages of the traditional plate making method?
(1) The plate-making process is complicated, and most of them are manually operated, which makes it difficult to realize digital control;
(2) Use carbon paper to pass the plate, the printing plate accuracy is not high, and high-end color prints cannot be printed;
(3) Cannot realize seamless plate making;
(4) It is not technically stable enough and requires high operating skills;
(5) The cost of plate making is relatively high.
Therefore, this method can only be applied to the printing of printed matter that does not require high printing quality. As people's requirements for printing quality are getting higher and higher, this plate-making method has been gradually eliminated.

2. What is the purpose of plate chrome plating?
After the printing plate graphics are established, a layer of chromium is also plated. The chromium plating is to improve the surface hardness and protect the printing plate roller, thereby improving the printing endurance of the printing plate. Because the chrome-plated layer has strong hardness, wear resistance and chemical stability, it can make the surface of the printing plate roller have good mechanical strength, and can keep the printing plate glossy for a long time.
The electrolyte used for chrome plating is mainly chromic anhydride and sulfuric acid. The key to the electroplating process is to control the current and electrolyte temperature. The temperature is generally controlled at 50-55°C, and it is better to change within ±1°C during the electroplating process, and the electrolyte temperature must be uniform. The current can be increased when conditions permit. The greater the current, the higher the hardness.

3. How to solve the problem of poor coverage in the chromium plating process of the printing plate?
When poor coverage occurs in the chromium plating process of the printing plate, if the sulfuric acid content is too high, an appropriate amount of BaCO3 can be used to reduce the sulfuric acid content. If it is caused by the high content of metal impurities such as trivalent chromium or iron, the content of trivalent chromium can be reduced or the impurities can be removed by ion exchange.

4. What should be done when a part of the surface is not plated with chromium during the chromium plating process of the printing plate?
In the chromium plating process of the printing plate, if a part of the surface is not plated with chromium, if the temperature is too high, the temperature should be appropriately lowered. If there is an oxide film or oil stain on the surface of the plated part, the chromium plating pretreatment should be strengthened. If the current density is too low, the current density should be increased. If it is caused by poor contact or other reasons, check and clean the contact points.
