Reasons and treatment methods of air bubbles in dry composite
When the dry laminator is laminating, if there are small pinholes on the composite material, the small pinholes may be bubbles, which not only affects the quality of the product, but also causes unqualified products if the customer is not satisfied, and cause waste of production costs. Let us introduce to you the reasons and treatment methods of air bubbles in the dry laminating machine.

Dry laminating means coating a layer of solvent-based adhesive on the plastic film, passing through the drying tunnel of the compound machine to volatilize the solvent and drying, and then bonding with other compound materials under hot pressing to form a smooth compound material. The composite film combines the excellent properties of each layer of film, such as moisture resistance, barrier properties, heat resistance and heat sealability, etc., so as to meet the packaging needs of various commodities. During the drying process in the drying tunnel, the solvent in the adhesive should be volatilized as cleanly as possible. Because if the solvent is not evaporated cleanly, its volume will gradually increase after winding. The gradual accumulation of residual solvent will leave tiny pinholes on the cooled composite material. These tiny pinholes are what we call bubbles, which seriously affect product quality, and even fail to meet customer requirements, resulting in product scrap .

The dry composite film substrate is glued and coated and then enters the drying tunnel for drying. The requirement is that the solvent volatilizes as cleanly as possible, and the degree of solvent volatilization is inseparable from the machine speed, drying tunnel temperature, and drying air volume. The releasability of the solvent determines the drying speed. If the drying is poor, the amount of residual solvent will increase, causing bubbles and odors. Bubbles are likely to occur in products that use single-component hot-melt adhesives for laminating, and of course two-component reactive adhesives are not excluded.

The above are the reasons and treatment methods of air bubbles in the dry laminating machine. Deguang is a professional dry laminating machine supplier and manufacturer. If you want to know more about dry laminating machines, please contact us.
