Film Blowing Machine

Product Overview

Industrial Film Blowing Machines are engineered to convert thermoplastic resin into continuous plastic film through precision extrusion, bubble forming, cooling, collapsing, and winding. The equipment integrates resin feeding, thermal melting, film bubble control, cooling, web handling, and rewinding into a robust, continuous production line.

Depending on the specific machine configuration, this equipment produces diverse film widths, gauges, and structures tailored for packaging, agricultural, industrial, and specialized film-converting applications. Every system is engineered to match the required resin characteristics, target film specifications, and production output targets.

Working Principle / Production Process

The industrial film blowing process consists of five distinct mechanical stages:

CPP PP Water Cooling Blown Film Machine
Blowing Machine Inline With Printing Machine
Mini PE Film Blowing Machine
Double Head PE Film Blowing Machine

Feeding & Melting: Thermoplastic resin pellets are gravity-fed into the extruder barrel, where a precision screw conveys, compresses, and melts the material through zoned thermal heating and high mechanical shear.

Extrusion & Filtration: The molten polymer passes through a filtration system to remove impurities, establishing steady melt pressure before entering the annular die head.

Film Bubble Formation: The polymer melt is extruded upward through the die gap to form a continuous tubular profile. Compressed air is injected through the center of the die to inflate the melt into a precisely controlled film bubble.

Cooling & Bubble Stabilization: Symmetrical cooling air is directed around the film bubble via dual-lip air rings to lower the melt temperature, crystallize the polymer structure, and stabilize the bubble along the frost line height.

Collapsing & Winding: The cooled bubble passes through the collapsing frame and nip roll section, flattening the tube into a continuous web before it is wound into uniform mill rolls via tension-controlled winders.

Compatible Materials

Our film blowing machines are configured to process a wide range of thermoplastic resins through specialized extrusion systems, screw designs, and die configurations:

  • LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene): Suitable for flexible films requiring high clarity and elongation.
  • High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE): Suitable for films requiring high stiffness, tensile strength, and moisture barrier properties.
  • LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene): Suitable for high-strength films requiring superior puncture resistance and tensile toughness.
  • PP (Polypropylene): Suitable for applications requiring specific tensile strength, clarity, or thermal resistance.
  • Recycled & Specialty Resins: Accommodated when extrusion systems, venting, and feeding configurations are specifically matched to the material grade.

Actual material processing ranges are verified during the machine configuration and trial testing phase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What thermoplastic materials can your film blowing machines process?

A: Processing compatibility depends on the specific extrusion system and screw configuration. Standard systems process LDPE, HDPE, LLDPE, and PP. Post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins or biodegradable compounds can also be processed when the barrel venting, screw compression, and feeding systems are engineered accordingly.

Q: How do I select the right film blowing machine model for my plant?

A: Machine selection is dictated by your raw material grade, required film width, target thickness, hourly output requirements, film layer structure (monolayer vs. multilayer), and the final application. Providing these details allows our engineering team to propose an optimized configuration.

Q: Can a single machine produce multiple film widths and thicknesses?

A: Yes, within an optimized operating window determined by the extruder output, die gap, cooling capacity, and take-up mechanics. Specific size transition limits should be reviewed based on your target product specifications.

Q: Are the film blowing lines customizable for specific factory layouts?

A: Yes. Tower heights, extruder orientations, control panel placements, and auxiliary equipment layouts can be engineered to accommodate your facility's ceiling clearance and floor space constraints.

Q: What information is required to receive an accurate technical quotation?

A: To formulate a precise technical proposal, please provide your resin type, target film width, thickness range, hourly output goal, film structure (monolayer/multilayer), and any specific downstream requirements.

Q: What technical support is provided for international machine installation?

A: We provide comprehensive documentation and offer on-site engineering support for mechanical installation, system commissioning, and initial startup training to ensure a smooth transition into commercial production.
